What do you think?
Marijuana moratorium challenged
Local businessmen Tyler Boss and Aaron Westbrook are challenging a moratorium on marijuana dispensaries in Woodstock Township because they started their business about the same time the law went into effect.Westbrook said, "We are not a clinic. We sell medical marijuana to card-carrying members. We are a medical marijuana retail store."
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Would you mind a medical marijuana business near where you live?
Let them do their business... as long as they are following the law, really people.
ReplyDeleteLet them stay then make shire they follow the rules of the law
ReplyDeleteThey look harm less to me
ReplyDeleteI think they are doing nothing wrong... they are in a loacation where verry little homes are.. people of woodstock want icc around. Some members on the bord of woodstock dont do any research on things they vote on. molly wanted to buy a printer for 1200 bucks.. She didnt no if it printed on both sides of paper or if it stapled, or wireless. sounds to me woodstock bord just dose things. they don ttake time to look or read up on anything. So I say whatever they say is wrong. Because a monkey could do better..
ReplyDeleteA business anywhere in woodstock twp. Should be Welcome as long as they apply with STATE law. This economy is in bad shape and for a township to turn away a business that will bring people around is good for all business in its surrounding area.......1+1=2!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI own and operate Bellagio Wellness Center, in the same complex as ICC. We specialize in the relief of chronic pain and injury here, with a focus on Neuromuscular Therapy(NMT). We also offer yoga classes to help people improve their strength and flexibility.
ReplyDeleteSince ICC has moved in, they have had a noticeably positive effect on my business. This is because Medicinal Cannibis patients tend to be folks who are looking for a natural way of improving their health and overall well-being.
The clients I've gained from ICC are all nice, normal people. They are your neighbors, friends, and family members. They are people looking for relief, and in most cases they are tired of the side effects coming from pharmaceutical drugs and surgeries.
ICC is providing a safe, clean, and proper space for Medical Cannabis patients to get their medicine. The patients know the that they are getting medical grade product, and that they are safe and secure.
I believe it to be shortsighted and narrow minded to be trying to stop ICC, or Medicinal Cannibis at all. It is overwhelmingly popular.
Tyler is a family man. He has a wife and children. This is his business, and his means of supporting them.
It is legal in Michigan. It can be a huge boost to the local economy.
To be forward thinking and open to the Medical Cannibis business is the smart play, and I think the township is missing that. There are local growers who provide product locally, there are people waiting to open supply shops locally. They are going to take their profits from the business and spend them locally at the restauraunts, gas stations, and grocery stores. This is a growth industry coming to Michigan in a time of economic hardship.
Do it right, do it repectfully, and reap the rewards locally.
Let them do their business, they are a harmless organization helping out those in medical need of marijuana. If they are following all the state laws then there should be ne problem. it sounds to me Woodstock Township bored and angry that ICC is doing so well. in a bad time of our economy, i think they should be worrying about businesses getting up and running again, not shuting them down. A man once said "you can comsume multiple marijuana ciggarettes and live to see tommrow, you consume multiple prescription pills and you won't wake up. so please tell me what is more harmful for you health.
ReplyDeletePeople need to look in to future not into the past
ReplyDeleteAdrian has a dispensary right inside the court house. It works fine!
ReplyDeleteI say put one in the Woodstock town hall, maybe the old police office would be a good place?
Exactly, I dont see what the issue is... not near a school, highly populated area, or an innappropriate area. Its simple really supply and demand- there is now a demand for medicinal marijuana, many people are turning to medical marijuana for many reasons, where else should they go?? By challenging this moratorium all that being done is it will leave another vacant spot in an area striving to survive, and making it even harder for people like Dr.Davis' patients to find their medicine.
ReplyDeleteLET YOUR COMMUNITY GROW !!!
I think that every town should have one!
ReplyDeleteThe people of the state of Michigan voted to allow patients, with proper records, to buy and possess marijuana for medical use yet our esteemed community leaders try to block the "will of the people". Why should the people of our community be forced to drive to Jackson or Adrian because of a few paranoid councilmen?
ReplyDeleteI see children paraded past rows of alcoholic beverages (without any concern) everyday in our local stores. At least the dispensary provides a private, safe, and reliable way for our terminally ill NEIGHBORS and friends to obtain a product that improves their quality of life without the fear of shame or retribution.
ReplyDeleteI've had MS for 14 years and have taken 24 pills a day, 28 if I have break through pain. I'm tired of taking pills and medical marijuana has reduced my need for pain meds significantly.
ReplyDeleteWe voted to allow medicinal marijuana and I'm tired of the various levels of government trying to do an end run of the peoples' will. Closing this store will force people back into the street to buy from real criminals, or maybe I should just get my child to get some for me when he's at school.
ICC was a business that was opened by two hometown gentlemen who want to help support there local community. They could have chose to go to a more heavily populated city but instead chose to stand by there hometown and help it grow. Michigan legalized it for a reason! I think that its wonderful what these two men are doing. We have six local bars in the area. People are drinking and driving like its nobodys business. Not only do they put themselves at risk they are putting other people on the road at risk. ICC doesn't even allow you to consume medical marijuana on there premises, that way nobody is driving under the influence. I have heard of mothers against drunk driving but I have never heard of mothers against medical marijuana centers. Also I'm not understanding how people are even getting offended that ICC is here. They have talked to local businesses who are happy to have them around and and they do not display any marijuana grafetti outside there business. They have a very classy logo. I think the township should let ICC stay. They are not breaking any rules of the state of Michigan. Plus when I look online I cannot find any record of the woodstock township moratorium. Shouldn't that be public record? Sounds to me like they made it up when they found out there business was opened.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the township board needs to review the hasty decision that was made to close down a local business that generates jobs, pays rent and helps people whom live in a lot of pain.Hasty decisions like this are part of the problem with this economy and short sided opinions by people who are unclear about things they are not educated about be like Perry Mason get all the facts first just dont jump off the bridge and then ask is it going to hurt when I hit the ground.
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong with ICC,it's Medical. Let me ask the township a question.Do any of you have Prescription drugs that were ordered by a Doctor? You get them at a pharmacy don't you? Well ICC is like a pharmacy they help people with their medicines to. So what's the big deal any ways? Don't you have better things to do?
